FIUV Open Forum 2017 in Rome.

The Fœderatio Internationalis Una Voce is pleased to invite you to it's Open Forum this next Saturday 16 of September in the City of Rome, that will be preceded by the main activities of the International Pilgrimage Summorum Pontificum 2017.

The order of the day will be:

SATURDAY 16 SEPTEMBER 2017

1. 9:00 Eucharistic Adoration in the church Santa Maria in Vallicella (Chiesa Nuova), Piazza Chiesa Nuova, 00186 Roma

2. 9:45 Solemn procession through the streets of Rome, guided by The Most Reverend Abp. Guido Pozzo, Secretary of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei Opening prayer. Singing of Veni Creator Spiritus.

3. 11:00 Pontifical High Mass in the Basilica of St. Peter’s, choir directed by Maestro Aurelio Porfiri

OPEN FORUM

The Open Forum its a great opportunity for Lay People and Clerics interested in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite to share their experiences and get to know people from all around the world that work in the promotion of the Usus Antiquor. The appointment is in CASA TRA NOI, Via di Monte del Gallo, 113, 00165 Roma, Italia

5. 18:00 Presentation of Paix Liturgique regarding the International Surveys about Traditional Latin Mass made in recent years.

6. 18:45 Presentation of Mr. Leo Darroch’s new book on the History of the FIUV

7. 19:30 Arrival of His Eminence Raymond Cardinal Burke. Message of His Eminence to attendants and Blessing.

Our abiding mission...

“It is vitally important that these new priests and religious, these new young people with ardent hearts, should find -- if only in a corner of the rambling mansion of the Church -- the treasure of a truly sacred liturgy still glowing softly in the night. And it is our task – since we have been given the grace to appreciate the value of this heritage -- to preserve it from spoliation, from becoming buried out of sight, despised and therefore lost forever. It is our duty to keep it alive: by our own loving attachment, by our support for the priests who make it shine in our churches, by our apostolate at all levels of persuasion...”

Dr Borghild Krane, co-founder of the International Una Voce Federation

In 1964, Dr Borghild Krane, an eminent psychologist in Norway, sent out an appeal to concerned Catholics to group together in defence of the Church's liturgical heritage. As a result of that appeal a number of national associations came into being in 1964-65. The first interim President of the nascent and inchoate Federation was His Serene Highness Duke Filippo Caffarelli. Delegates from six European associations met in Rome early in 1965 and the International Federation was formally erected in Zurich on 8 January 1967. Delegates from 20 associations approved the draft statutes and elected the first Council and a new President, Dr Erich Vermehren de Saventhem.
